Take control of your future with the Cancer plan
The high cost of today's technologically advanced cancer treatments
can be out of reach for the average person — even those with
health insurance coverage. The Cancer plan lets insureds determine
how their benefit money is used. The plan provides a single cash
benefit payment upon first diagnosis of invasive cancer* identified
by a qualified physician after the insured's effective date. The
benefit is paid regardless of the course of treatment selected and
can be used to pay a number of expenses, such as hospital bills,
household expenses and experimental medical procedures, to name
a few.
Plan Features
- After claim review process is complete, the benefit is sent
to the insured in one lump-sum payment.
- Rates do not increase if the insured moves into a new age bracket.
- The benefit is payable whether or not the insured is hospitalized
and whether or not the insured is undergoing treatment.
- The benefit is payable regardless of other insurance coverage
the insured may have.
- No physical exam required.
- No deductibles.
- Family coverage available for spouse and children.
- Hassle-free application with limited health questions for an
active employee working at least 20 hours per week.
- Carcinoma in situ (25 percent benefit) — if the insured
receives the one time 25 percent benefit for carcinoma in situ,
the remaining 75 percent benefit will be available for a first
diagnosis of another covered cancer. Coverage for an insured terminates
once a full benefit has been paid. If multiple family members
are covered and one receives the full benefit, premiums for the
remaining insureds will be reduced.
Available Riders
- The EZ Value/Future Purchase Option rider can increase the
benefit amount of the Cancer Protector insurance policy by fighting
inflation.
- The Return of Premium rider and Return of Premium rider with
Surrender Value Option allow individuals to surrender their policy
in exchange for a benefit equal to all premiums paid less any
benefits received under certain circumstances. Ask your NWB representative
for more details.
- With the 20-Year Premium Payment Plan, the Cancer Protector
plan will be paid up after 20 years of premium payments and no
additional premium will be required.
